01. Which Weekend Is Right for You?

Most couples visiting the Netherlands choose between two very different experiences. One is built around Fun4Two, where the club is the destination. The other combines a weekend in Amsterdam with an evening at Fata Morgana. Both are excellent - but they offer completely different trips.

There are also several smaller lifestyle venues across the Netherlands. We'll introduce these later in the guide, but for most first-time visitors, the biggest decision is choosing between these two weekends.

02. Fun4Two

If we only had one swinging weekend to recommend in the Netherlands, we'd choose Fun4Two. Not because it's the newest or the flashiest club, but because it delivers a fantastic evening, week after week. The atmosphere is consistently welcoming, the organisation is excellent and we've never felt the need for it to reinvent itself. It simply knows what works and does it exceptionally well.

Why We Love the Fun

The club opens at 9pm, and there's usually a queue from the moment the doors open, so it's worth arriving on time. Even the changing rooms are part of the evening. It's easy to strike up a conversation while you swap your real-world clothes for something sexier, before you've even properly arrived.

There are plenty of lifestyle clubs across Europe, but very few we'd happily travel back to year after year. Fun4Two is one of them. From the moment you arrive, it strikes a balance that's surprisingly difficult to find: modern without feeling clinical, busy without feeling overcrowded, and really welcoming whether you are a newbie or a regular visitor.

One of the things we admire most about Fun4Two is that it doesn't chase trends or try to reinvent itself every few years. It has developed a formula that works, and it delivers that experience consistently. Every visit feels familiar in the best possible way. The staff know exactly how to run the evening, the layout works, the atmosphere develops naturally and the whole club feels incredibly well organised.

The recent spa refurbishment is a good example. Rather than changing the character of the club, they simply modernised one area while keeping everything that already worked. That's exactly how we'd have approached it ourselves.

The other thing that keeps drawing us back is the people. On almost every visit to the Fun we've met couples from across the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, Belgium and beyond. That international mix creates a friendly, open atmosphere and makes it one of the easiest clubs in Europe to strike up conversations and feel part of the evening.

The Atmosphere

For us, the atmosphere is what makes Fun4Two stand out. It's lively without feeling overwhelming, social without being intimidating, and manages to strike a balance that many clubs never quite achieve.

One of the first things you'll notice is how international the crowd is. Alongside Dutch couples, it's common to meet visitors from the UK, Belgium, Germany and further afield. That mix creates a relaxed, open-minded atmosphere where conversations start naturally and newcomers rarely feel out of place.

Perhaps the biggest compliment we can give Fun4Two is that we always know what kind of evening we're going to have. Every weekend attracts slightly different people, but the atmosphere is remarkably consistent. It never feels chaotic or unpredictable. Instead, the evening unfolds naturally, helped by experienced staff and a club that has spent years refining what works.

At around 11pm, listen out for a particular Dutch song. We don't know the full lyrics, but the main line seems to translate roughly as "get your clothes off, get your clothes off," and everyone in the room knows exactly what it means. It's the cue to head upstairs and swap your going-out outfit for something a little more revealing.

Of course, every visit is different. Friday theme nights, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons all attract slightly different crowds, giving the club a different feel depending on when you visit. We'll look at those in more detail later in this guide, but whichever day you choose, the welcoming atmosphere is one of the things that makes Fun4Two so special.

Facilities That Simply Work

One of the reasons Fun4Two remains one of our favourite clubs is that very little actually needs changing. The layout flows naturally, every area has a purpose and the evening never feels forced. Over the years the owners have refreshed and maintained the club where necessary, but they've wisely resisted changing the formula that has made Fun4Two one of Europe's most successful swingers clubs.

Spa & Wellness

The recent refurbishment focused almost entirely on the spa area, with a rebuilt jacuzzi, sauna and changing facilities. Importantly, the rest of the club remains largely unchanged. It feels like careful maintenance rather than wholesale redesign, preserving the relaxed atmosphere that returning visitors know and love.

Restaurant & Social Spaces

Not every moment of the evening is spent exploring the club. The restaurant and lounge areas give couples somewhere to slow down, enjoy a meal or a drink, and get to know people. It's one of the reasons the atmosphere feels so relaxed compared with clubs where everything revolves around the play areas.

The buffet changes theme every week, Spanish one week, Mexican the next, etc, also with steaks, skewers, ready-cooked dishes and salads. Some people head straight there when they arrive; others prefer to eat after some physical activity. Tables seat four, which makes it an easy, low-pressure way to say hello: just ask to join someone.

The bar staff are the fastest we've seen anywhere. Two staff somehow manage up to 300 guests between them, and the wait is rarely more than about 30 seconds.

Friday Theme Nights

One of the things that makes Fun4Two different from many other clubs is its Friday theme nights. Rather than simply giving each Friday a different name, these events genuinely influence the atmosphere, the crowd and the style of the evening.

Plan Your Trip Around the Calendar

If you're travelling from overseas, our biggest piece of advice is simple: check the calendar before you book your flights.

Whether it's Gigolo Night, Little Bi Night, (S)Expert Night or one of the club's other themed events, each Friday attracts a slightly different mix of couples and creates its own atmosphere. Many visitors plan their flights around these events rather than choosing dates first.

Every Theme Feels Different

While the club itself remains the same, the people attending each event often have different expectations and interests. Some nights are ideal for first-time visitors, while others attract more experienced couples or those looking for something a little more specific.

That's one of the clever things about Fun4Two. The club itself remains reassuringly familiar, while the different Friday themes keep each visit feeling fresh. It's variety without losing the atmosphere that people come back for.

Book Early

The most popular themed events can be extremely busy, especially during holiday periods and long weekends. Once you've chosen the Friday that's right for you, it's worth booking both your accommodation and club tickets well in advance.

Signature Events

Alongside its regular Friday themes, Fun4Two hosts a handful of major events throughout the year that attract visitors from across Europe. These evenings have a completely different feel to a normal club night, with elaborate dress codes, entertainment and a much larger international crowd.

Kinky at the Fun

One of the club's best-known events, Kinky at the Fun transforms the venue into a large themed party with DJs, performances and an electric atmosphere. Tickets often sell out weeks or even months in advance.

The strict dress code is part of the fun, and we learned that the hard way. At our first Kinky at the Fun, a proper "door bitch" was checking outfits, and it turned out wet-look leather wasn't allowed. Skin, fortunately, was. We improvised on the spot.

Eyes Wide Shut

Inspired by the famous masquerade aesthetic, Eyes Wide Shut is one of the most glamorous nights on the calendar. Masks, elegant dress and a unique atmosphere make it one of the highlights of the year for many returning visitors.

Book Early

If you're hoping to attend one of these signature events, don't leave your plans until the last minute. Accommodation fills quickly, tickets often sell out well in advance, and many couples plan their entire weekend around these dates.

Sunday Afternoons

One of the things we love most about Fun4Two is its Sunday afternoon sessions. While they have a more relaxed atmosphere than the Friday and Saturday evenings, they're by no means quieter. Instead, they offer a completely different way to enjoy the club.

A Different Way to Party

There's something wonderfully surreal about dancing in a nightclub at five o'clock on a Sunday afternoon. Instead of finishing in the early hours of the morning, you're heading back to your hotel by around 10pm, making Sunday one of our favourite ways to experience Fun4Two.

Indoor & Outdoor

Sunday afternoons run throughout the year. During the warmer months, many couples make the most of the outdoor pool and terrace when the weather is good, giving the club an almost resort-like feel. But don't worry if it's raining or you're visiting in winter - the party quickly moves indoors, and the atmosphere remains just as enjoyable.

Perfect for a Weekend Away

If you're staying nearby for the weekend, Sunday afternoon is the perfect way to round off your trip. After a relaxed breakfast and perhaps a few hours exploring Gouda or the surrounding area, you can spend the afternoon at the club before heading home that evening or on Monday morning.

Our Verdict

If you're travelling to the Netherlands primarily for the swinging, Fun4Two would be our first recommendation. If we were ever given the keys to Fun4Two, we're not sure we'd change very much at all. That probably tells you everything you need to know. The club has spent years refining an experience that simply works. Rather than constantly reinventing itself, it focuses on delivering a genuinely enjoyable evening every single weekend. That's why we keep returning, and why it's still our favourite swingers club in the Netherlands.

For us, Fun4Two isn't just the best club in the Netherlands - it's one of the best swingers clubs in Europe. If you're planning your first Dutch lifestyle weekend, this is where we'd start.

03. Fata Morgana

Why Choose Fata Morgana?

If you're planning a weekend in Amsterdam and would like to include a lifestyle club, Fata Morgana is the obvious choice. Located within easy reach of the city, it allows you to spend the day exploring Amsterdam before enjoying an evening at one of the Netherlands' longest-established swingers clubs.  It's what makes Fata Morgana such a natural choice if Amsterdam is already on your travel list.

While we'd personally choose Fun4Two for a dedicated lifestyle weekend, Fata Morgana offers a different experience. The facilities are excellent, drinks are included, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and there's plenty of space to explore throughout the evening. For many couples, it's the perfect way to combine a city break with a memorable club night.

The Atmosphere

Fata Morgana has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that's easy to enjoy. Like Fun4Two, it's couples only, with Fridays typically attracting a 40–60 year-old crowd and Saturdays bringing a slightly younger audience. Sunday's afternoon sessions tend to attract an older, more relaxed crowd.

Friday & Saturday Evenings

Friday and Saturday follow the familiar rhythm of a good lifestyle club. People arrive, enjoy a drink, chat with friends, and gradually become more adventurous as the evening unfolds. The dance floor, bar, spa and play areas all become busier as the night progresses, creating a sociable atmosphere without ever feeling rushed.

Sunday Afternoons

During the summer, Fata Morgana opens its outdoor day club, complete with a swimming pool, sun loungers and an all-inclusive bar. For us, this is the best day to visit.

The outside area is huge, with plenty of sunbeds, and there's often a DJ playing relaxed summer tracks. You get your own drinks from the bar rather than waiting for table service, a small touch that makes the whole afternoon feel easier. It's a genuinely relaxed way to meet people.

Most couples relax outside, while those looking for a more social atmosphere tend to gravitate indoors, where conversations flow more easily.

It's also one of the easiest ways to visit Fata Morgana for the first time. Walking into a busy nightclub can feel intimidating, but a relaxed Sunday afternoon by the pool is a much gentler introduction.

Unlike the evening events, Sunday is all about unwinding, with no nightclub atmosphere, and many couples enjoy spending a relaxed afternoon together before dinner is served later in the day.

The Facilities

Fata Morgana is one of the largest swingers clubs in the Netherlands and has everything you'd expect for a comfortable evening. While we personally prefer the atmosphere at Fun4Two, there's very little to separate the two clubs when it comes to the facilities themselves.

Pool & Wellness

The indoor swimming pool and sauna form an important part of the club, providing a relaxed space to unwind, socialise and meet other couples before exploring the rest of the venue.

Dance, Bar & Lounge Areas

Like Fun4Two, drinks are included throughout the evening, so there's never any need to queue at a bar or think about paying for individual drinks. The lounge areas provide plenty of space to sit, chat and take a break from the busier parts of the club. There is a large dance area for when energy levels are high, and it's a great opportunity to start a conversation & flirt a little.

Plenty of Space

One thing Fata Morgana does particularly well is space. With numerous rooms spread across the upper floor, a large self-contained smoking area, and generous communal areas, the club rarely feels cramped, even on busy evenings. Everything is clean, well maintained and easy to navigate, making it comfortable for both first-time and returning visitors.

04. Fun4Two or Fata Morgana?

It's a question we're often asked, and the answer isn't as straightforward as you might think.

On paper, the two clubs have a lot in common. Both offer quality facilities, unlimited drinks, many playrooms, wellness areas, spacious layouts and a similar age profile. If you were comparing facilities alone, there isn't a huge amount between them.

For us, the biggest difference is the atmosphere.

We've generally found Fun4Two to have more energy throughout the evening. The staff are warm and engaging, the bar team help create a fun atmosphere, and there's an enthusiasm that seems to spread throughout the club. Every visit feels like there's something happening.

Fata Morgana is different. We've had some genuinely excellent evenings there, but we've also had nights that were pleasant rather than memorable. That's not a criticism, it reflects the club's more relaxed character. But if we were choosing just one destination for a dedicated lifestyle weekend, Fun4Two would still be our first choice.

On the other hand, if you're staying in Amsterdam and want to include a swingers club as part of your city break, Fata Morgana makes perfect sense. It's a very good club and one we'd happily recommend, especially for couples who want to combine sightseeing with a great evening out.

Staying in Amsterdam

One of the biggest advantages of Fata Morgana is its location. Unlike Fun4Two, which we think is best enjoyed as a dedicated weekend away, Fata works perfectly as part of an Amsterdam city break.

Explore the City by Day

Spend the day wandering the canals, visiting museums, enjoying a long lunch or relaxing on one of Amsterdam's many terraces. Then, when you're ready, take a taxi out to Fata Morgana for the evening before returning to your hotel afterwards.

No Need to Stay Nearby

We wouldn't recommend looking for accommodation close to Fata Morgana. Most visitors stay in central Amsterdam and simply travel to and from the club by Uber or by car. It's an easy journey and lets you enjoy everything the city has to offer without changing hotels.

The Best of Both Worlds

If you've always wanted to visit Amsterdam, Fata Morgana gives you the opportunity to combine one of Europe's great city breaks with a quality lifestyle club. That's what makes it different from Fun4Two, where the club itself is very much the destination.

05. Other Dutch Clubs

While Fun4Two and Fata Morgana are the two clubs we'd recommend to most visitors, they're not the only lifestyle venues in the Netherlands. If you're looking for something a little different, there are a handful of smaller clubs and social venues worth knowing about.

Sameplace

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, Sameplace is something of an outlier. It's not a large swingers club like Fun4Two or Fata Morgana, but a friendly, LGBTQ+-positive venue that combines the feel of a bar with elements of the lifestyle scene. It attracts the most varied crowd of people that we have ever seen in one place - you could literally find anyone in there!

If you're staying in Amsterdam and fancy a more relaxed, sociable evening, Sameplace is well worth considering. Just don't expect the same facilities or scale as the larger clubs - it's a completely different kind of experience. 

Smaller Local Clubs

The Netherlands is also home to several smaller swingers clubs, particularly around Amsterdam (Showboat, Paradise, etc) and Rotterdam. Most have loyal local followings and regular members.

Rather than repeating information from club websites or writing reviews based on second-hand accounts, we'll continue expanding this guide as we visit more of them ourselves. We believe first-hand experience is the only way to make genuine recommendations.
