icon_globe The Netherlands Swinging Guide

nl_couple_street

The Netherlands is one of Europe's best lifestyle weekend destinations. While Gran Canaria and Cap d'Agde are places to spend a week or two, the Dutch club scene is perfect for a Friday-to-Monday escape. Fly into Amsterdam, enjoy one of Europe's finest swingers clubs, meet like-minded couples and be back at work on Monday morning.

Whether you're looking for the legendary atmosphere of Fun4Two, the convenience of Fata Morgana or just a fun weekend with friends, the Netherlands offers an easy, welcoming and unforgettable introduction to the European swinging scene.

Our Dutch Clubs guide compares the main venues and helps you choose the right one for your weekend.

01. Why Swingers Visit the Netherlands

The Netherlands is one of Europe's best destinations for a lifestyle weekend. With easy flights, excellent transport and some of the continent's best clubs, it's a place where three or four days can feel surprisingly full.

Easy to Reach

Amsterdam is only a short flight from much of Europe, making the Netherlands ideal for spontaneous long weekends without using too much annual leave.

Active Swinging Community

The Netherlands has one of Europe's most active swingers communities, making it easy to meet like-minded couples both inside and outside the clubs.

Perfect for Long Weekends

Compact cities, efficient trains and short travel times mean you can enjoy multiple venues and experiences in a single weekend without spending hours in the car.

Unlike destinations built around beaches or resorts, the Netherlands revolves around the people you meet and the experiences you create. That's why so many couples return several times a year.

02. The Best Clubs in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is home to some of Europe's best-known lifestyle clubs. Whether you're looking for elegant spa facilities, lively themed nights or relaxed Sunday socials, there's a venue to suit every style. Rather than trying to visit them all in one trip, choose the club that best matches the weekend you're planning.

Our Dutch Clubs guide explains the atmosphere, strengths and typical visitors at each venue.

Which weekend?

Don't choose your flights first - choose your weekend first.

Many Dutch clubs host themed nights, special events and seasonal parties that can completely change the atmosphere on any given night. Planning around the right event often makes a bigger difference than choosing a different city.

03. Choosing the Right Day

Not every weekend in the Netherlands feels the same. While the clubs are the same, the atmosphere can change dramatically depending on whether you visit on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Choosing the right day is just as important as choosing the right club.

Although Saturdays attract the biggest nightlife crowds, they don't always produce the most action inside the clubs. If your main goal is meeting people, don't automatically assume Saturday is the best choice.

If you enjoy taking your time and getting to know people, Sundays have a very different feel from the Friday and Saturday nights.

If you're visiting for the first time, we'd usually recommend arriving on Friday and staying until Sunday. You'll experience two completely different atmospheres and get a much better feel for the Dutch swinging scene than by visiting on Saturday alone.

04. Where We Stay

One of the advantages of a Dutch lifestyle weekend is that you don't need to stay at a dedicated resort. Most visitors choose accommodation that fits the club they're visiting and the type of weekend they're planning.

If you're heading to Fun4Two, staying nearby makes for a relaxed evening without a long journey home. If you're visiting Fata Morgana, many people stay in Amsterdam or Utrecht and take a taxi to the club, combining their visit with a city break.

These are the options we'd recommend.

Visiting Fun4Two

We usually recommend Van der Valk Rotterdam Nieuwerkerk. It's a comfortable four-star hotel that's popular with Fun4Two visitors. A low-cost shuttle runs directly between the hotel and the club on club nights, and staying there also means you're likely to meet other couples who are heading to Fun4Two, making the weekend feel more social before you've even arrived.

Visiting Fata Morgana

Fata Morgana works a little differently. There isn't a natural "swingers hotel" nearby, so most visitors either drive or take a taxi from Amsterdam or Utrecht. We'd choose accommodation that suits the rest of your weekend rather than trying to stay close to the club.

If our guides have helped you plan your trip, we'd really appreciate it if you booked using the links on this page.

When you click through to Booking.com, try to complete your booking from that visit. If you compare prices elsewhere or return later, please come back and use these links again before booking. Otherwise, your booking may not be credited to us.

It doesn't cost you anything extra, but it really helps support Me Time You Time and allows us to keep the lights on & keep the lube flowing!

We almost always compare car hire prices through Booking.com before we travel. Even when we've checked the same vehicle directly with companies like Hertz or Avis, Booking.com has often been significantly cheaper. It's become our default place to compare prices whenever we hire a car.

05. Start Your Weekend Before You Fly

One of the easiest ways to improve your weekend is to start connecting before you travel.

For most weekends in the Netherlands, we'd recommend using SDC before you fly, as it has one of the strongest Dutch communities.

Whether you're arranging to meet another couple at the club, planning dinner together or just chatting beforehand, arriving with familiar faces waiting for you can completely change the experience.

icon_chat_bubbleStart the Conversation

A simple message before your trip helps break the ice. By the time you arrive, you're no longer walking into a room full of strangers.

icon_cocktailMeet at the Club

Many couples arrange to meet for a drink at the main bar, making the evening feel far more relaxed.

icon_homePrivate Socials

Some conversations lead beyond the clubs, with local couples inviting visitors for dinner, drinks or a private evening together.

icon_community2Build Lasting Connections

Many couples return to the Netherlands because they already know people there. Each visit becomes less about introductions and more about catching up with friends.

Why this works so well in the Netherlands

Unlike resort destinations where everyone arrives and leaves at the same time, the Netherlands has a large year-round local community. That means you're not just meeting other travellers - you can also connect with people who live there and know the clubs, restaurants and cities well.

A little planning before your trip can completely change the experience.

06. Our Verdict

If someone asked us where to spend a lifestyle weekend in Europe, the Netherlands would be at the top of the list.

Excellent clubs, easy travel, welcoming people and one of Europe's most active swinging communities make it an ideal destination for couples who want to make the most of a long weekend.

Whether it's your first visit or your fifth, there's always another themed night, another event and another reason to come back.
