01. Welcome to the Naturist Village
Cap d'Agde is unlike anywhere else in Europe. Built as a naturist resort in the 1970s, it has grown into one of the world's best-known swinging destinations. During the summer, tens of thousands of visitors come here to enjoy the beaches, restaurants, cafés and nightlife, all within a village where nudity is just part of everyday life. It's a curious mix of naturists and swingers, two very different types of people, in the same village.
A Village, Not a Resort
One of the biggest surprises for first-time visitors is that Cap isn't a hotel or holiday complex. It's a real village with apartments, shops, supermarkets, cafés, bars, restaurants and a large marina. Many people stay for a week or two, while others return every summer for months at a time.

03. A Typical Day in Cap
No two days in Cap are ever exactly the same, but most visitors quickly settle into a familiar rhythm. The beauty of the village is that there is never any pressure to do anything. You can just enjoy the day together and let the evening unfold naturally.

One of the biggest surprises about Cap is how many different people choose to spend their holidays here. There isn't one "typical" visitor, and there isn't one right way to experience the village.

05. The Best Holidays Often Start Before You Arrive
One of the biggest misconceptions about Cap is that you'll arrive, and instantly meet lots of people. Sometimes that happens, but for most people it's not quite that easy.
Cap Is Surprisingly Social
People spend their days on the beach, enjoy lunch together, relax at their apartments and head out for dinner in pairs or small groups. Unless you already know someone, there aren't many natural opportunities to strike up long conversations during the day.
Familiar Faces Make a Difference
Many regular visitors return to Cap every summer and already have friends waiting for them. Others spend a few weeks chatting on SpicyMatch or SDC before they travel, arranging to meet for a drink or lunch during their holiday. Walking into your first evening already knowing one or two people can completely change the experience.
Start Your Holiday Before You Leave Home
That's why we always recommend using swinging platforms before your trip. The village comes alive during July and August, with the busiest weeks usually falling from mid-July through to the end of August. If you enjoy a lively atmosphere, this is when you'll experience Cap at its very best.
How Long Should You Stay?
A long weekend is enough to get a taste of Cap, but most visitors stay for one or two weeks. It gives you time to settle into the relaxed daytime rhythm, explore the village and discover why so many people return year after year.
What About Trying A Takeover?
For summer 2027, two lifestyle companies are hosting takeover weeks at the new Vibes Resort, giving you the social side of an organised event while staying right inside the naturist village.
Luxury Lifestyle Vacations has two week-long takeovers, from 26th Jun – 3rd Jul and 31st Jul – 7th Aug 2027.
SpicyMatch is hosting SpicyVibes from 19th Jul –25th Jul 2027, with organised parties and events for couples.

Car Hire
Car HireIf you're flying into Montpellier, Béziers or another regional airport, hiring a car is usually the easiest way to reach Cap d'Agde. Once you're inside the Naturist Village you can walk almost everywhere, but a car gives you the flexibility to explore the surrounding coastline and nearby towns if you plan to venture beyond Cap.

Cap d'Agde isn't a destination that everyone falls in love with, but for the majority who do, it often becomes somewhere they return to year after year. There's a unique freedom about the village that's difficult to explain until you've experienced it for yourself. Days drift by between the beach, cafés and long lunches, while each evening brings the possibility of meeting new people or just enjoying the atmosphere.
